"the 'tomorrow' question"

I remember when we were told in primary school, "you are the leaders of tomorrow", it seemed like the circle of life and we waited with great anticipation. Alas, tomorrow still seem like tomorrow and our today do not reflect the tomorrow our hearts waited for. The leaders of yesterday, still leaders today, the young shall grow, the old refuse to let go. 

When will tomorrow be? We ask. 

Is it now or we wait for another?
