ART FOR WHAT SAKE!?

Must a work of art address a societal issue? Is the artist under the obligation to correct and instruct with his art? Is it obsolete in our time to do art for art's sake
I need your honest opinion.

  1. I believe doing art in the 21st century has taken absolutely new shape and dimension. It's definitely a different ball game. With the help desktops and surface tablet for virtual art, the need for hand held brushes and assorted paints is outdated and archaic. Art has a great impact on senses and emotions which gives it an edge to penetrate into the deepest part of human subconscious.

    In my opinion, I will say that, art is still one of the best ways to affect the society either positively or negatively depending on the artist's moral sense.

  3. It is in total correlation that every art finds as way to connect with the society which the artist is a part of. It just depends on the depth of the artist engagement and choice of expression, the art made with traditional materials and still running in demand are sought after because they give a connection to the society of time past. As long as its true expression, it will always find aspects to represent in the society.
