Why the Choice of that Medium?

Let's start with why I chose acrylic as my choice medium. Sincerely, it was because of the "Need for Speed". I had loads of assignments in final year second semester and my oil was exhausted. I remember someone once told me to try my hands on other mediums, he was specific about acrylic, during my 6 months work experience training (SIWES) the previous year, I was quite reluctant, now I had no choice but to go for it. I got some tubes of colours and that was it, I fell in love with Acrylic.
There is always this anxiety in some painters, the pressure to master the oil medium. We refer to oil as the medium of the masters, which indeed is true. Should you master its use? Yes, or at least, understand its use, but should you be under pressure to master oil? No. In fact, I believe every painter should try his or hand on other painting media, this enables you to know the medium that suits your temperament and the nature of your work.
Every medium has its temperament and it is pivotal for every artist understand the nature of each medium and know if it is in tandem with his or her temperament also,  then the artist will make a choice to master one.
I use acrylic because of its fast drying nature and also because I react to oil solvents.

Why the choice of that medium you use? Let me know...
